I've been riding 12 years both on the track and road.
I was known for being an experienced rider and a good laugh.

I've had to now quit riding "for health reasons"
I got taken out last September by a woman driver who jumped
a red light. She t-boned me writing off my 1995 Urban tiger Blade.
She also dislocated my big toe and right knee, this caused the
anteria and posteria cruciate ligaments and colateral ligaments
in my right knee to snap. I had two operations to try to reconstruct
my knee, including transplant ligaments from a donnor. The knee was about 80% stable and I was then about to start physio. The doctor cleared me to drive and ride again. So I went out a few times and it felt ok to ride. Then Friday night a month ago I met another idiot driver.

I rounded a blind left hander in a 40 zone, I was doing about 30 when a woman in a drive way on the right handside decided to reverse across her side of the road and into my path without looking.
I was given meters to stop in. I ended hitting her mid pillar of her car and head butting the roof before being fliped over the car and landing twisted.

I've came away with an open book fracture of the pelvis, which has been opperated on and i'm currently wearing an external fixator pinned in 6 places into my hips. I also received a broken wrist.

Both me and my brilliant girlfriend Suzi are now giving up on bikes. She did have an 05 R6 and I had an extremly tricked up 05 Repsol FireBlade.

I'm lucky to be here after the second smash and even asked to die at the scene but no one wanted me yet. I'm going to be out of this fixator in 7 weeks and I'm going to stick to my other hobbies of Jet sking and scuba diving.

Just popped in to say hi... My real name is Dave Tye, I'm 28 and live in Hullbridge, Essex.

Been riding for years, had a couple of bad accidents/injuries... One on the road and one racing. Most recent one was March 05 whilst racing, am still recovering now... Broken ankle in 3 places and a hole in my knee.

Before that had a head on with a car in 2000, broken leg, multiple lacerations, broken pelvis and a load of other nasty bits and bobs...

Back riding again now and back racing too... Hoping to get back to a decent level as soon as possible...

No Trike or Combi at the mo,
I'm wheely WHeely into motorbikes /trikes / combi's /camping / rallying / & I also like a selective range of certain types of cars / hot rods /trucks /boats.

whilst typing this post I'm currently occupying my 8 wheeler wheelchair with delux bordom. and a wish to be back out riding motorbikes.

I've been around motorbikes since a kid in the 1970's.
I like pushrod engines -Don't assume I'm meccanical I only know bits.

I'm hoping to build a trike soon but probabally won't be able to manage it on my own.

about 4 yrs ago I moved to a new area & still haven't found the local motorbike scene.

I done a bit of camping & rallies last year; my main problem with camping & ralies has been the lack of disabled toilet facilities.

I noted a few had the same problems; the rallies where there were no diabled facilities there were no other disabled people going according to the Rally organizers.
All the above will be better this year because I let it be known to many rallying clubs last year I intend on going to thier rallies & will require disabled toilets.

So, I better go away & look at the rest of your web site, I haven't done so as yet; therefore I'm not too sure yet if this is a place for an old disabled biker like me. (my disability was not caused whilst riding a motor-bike).

Spose id better kick off here ermmm....FOUR STROKE ......yea ok but its just the 1st thing thats came in me head ...

since my accident my memory has played games with me.....times can't even remember what someone said 5mins ago !!! tho do get flashbacks which is hell -real torture as their so Vivid. the diagnosis is PTSD( post traumatic Stress Disorder) feel bit alienated on this as don't know anyone who actually suffers from it OR any GP that does understand about it. so anyone suffering feel free to get in touch .guess with gettin older don't help either would be interestd in hearing your experiences best ~Stone

Peeved off with the likes of Mr joe ordinary people out there who have'nt GOT a CLUE bout head injuries OR have they any patience towards head injured survivors.EG: supermarket checkout, trying to pack your (40 cans of stella) goodies AND pay the cashier at the same time !!( gawd if i was meant to be an octopus , sure as hell he'd of made me one )...i sudenly notice the cashier GULP! Shes gettin real arsy here OOH & the queue behind start to get irritated & give me grief !!!! c'mon , c'mon bloody bikers . tattooed greaser i HEAR!!!...yer wot Matey i slowly turns & says to em with the look of lemmy & the p.ss off stance ...erm,erm ....it wasn't me a says this oversized geezer in a armani suite (ay.. ah yea ..your right me means SUIT bro ...tee hee ) . so i reach into me leather( and man did they move when i did that tee hee ) and produce a little credit sized card ( Which i THRUST at em ) that states* I AM A SURVIVOR OF A BRAIN INJURY I MAY HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY MEMORY, SPEECH & ACTIONS .I WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR HELP & PATIENCE....man , tell ya i was treated like a hero after that . .i mean how would they react /like it if they were in our boots ? no one knows when it could happen to them ! thats just ONE example. of which theres gotta be some of you been in that situation time & time again EH....just wish folk could be a little bit patient & not throw one .. anyone like to comment on that
